There are six species of baboons in the world. We primarily hunt the “chacma” baboon. One of the largest of all monkeys the baboon has a very distinct hierarchy structure- with a dominate male over looking his troop. Mountainous animals, the chacma baboon os often seen perched on rock outcroppings in Southern Africa. With their large k-9’s these baboons can take on the most feared African predators.
Typically mountainous animals- baboons travel in large troops with a dominant male. Traveling in troops of 50 and often seen resting and looking out for predators on rock out cropping’s these animals have a great bark to notify their fellow troop members of uncertainty. Typically these animals are harvested via spot and stalk but it isn’t untypical to see troops come to water holes during the heat of the day to cool down and present themselves with a shot opportunity.
