The zebra (Equus quagga) is a mammal that refers to a genus with three different species of the equine genus. In turn, it is a first cousin of animals such as the horse or the donkey. These three species are characterized by the fact that they are found on the African continent.
The common zebra has a characteristic shape; it has a medium size with a wide body and short legs relatively in proportion to its length. These animals usually reach a height of up to 1.5 meters and a length of 2.5 meters. In addition, they can weigh up to 385 kg.
Cunning herd animals you will always have to watch out for eyes and ears watching you when in pursuit of a trophy zebra. Quiet stalking and accurate shots are vital on these hefty beasts.
Zebra hunting opportunities exist all year round. However, in a large part of its range, hunting is uncomfortable (and the season often is closed) in the summer and/or the wet season, because of weather conditions. Most Zebra populations don’t have a specific rut time, with mares coming into heat at random.
Our zebra hunts are primarily hunted via spot and stalk. Although if hunting over animals over certain water holes during peak periods trophy zebra can be seen at water.
